Electrical software that gets the quote out before you leave the driveway
Snap the panel, say the job, and BestMate drafts the estimate at your prices. The homeowner signs and pays the deposit from a text, builders get an invoice for each stage, and your crew's hours add themselves up.

Still writing quotes at 9pm
You finish a breaker swap at 4:40 and the next homeowner wants a price on a Level 2 charger before her husband gets home. You say you'll send it tonight. At 9pm you're at the kitchen table typing it up after ten hours on your feet, and the electrician who quoted her on the spot already has the job. The panel upgrade from last week is still waiting on a deposit you never asked for in writing.
Quotes from the driveway
Quote the EV charger standing in her garage
Say it the way you'd say it to your helper: 50-amp circuit for a Level 2 charger, 40 feet of EMT along the garage wall. Add a photo of the panel label. The AI Estimator drafts the line items at your own prices, with what's included, what it assumed and what's left out, in under a minute. Check it, say "use my $125 rate" if it needs it, and text it before you're back in the truck.
- Level 2 EV charger circuit, 50A, 40 ft EMT, $1,850
- Dedicated 20A microwave circuit, $650
- Two kitchen GFCIs, $290
- Generator inlet and interlock kit
- Scope: permit included, drywall repair not
Deposits and add-ons
No deposit, no panel ordered
Put the 200-amp upgrade in front of Karen with the whole-home surge protector as an optional line she can tick. She signs from the text link, or on your phone before you leave, and pays the deposit on the same page through Stripe, Square or PayPal, set as a percentage or a fixed amount within what your state allows. Hide quantity and unit price on her copy, so the panel reads as a few clean lines instead of a list of fittings with your markup on them.
- 200A panel and main breaker
- Meter base and service mast
- Move and label 24 circuits
- Permit and inspection
- Whole-home surge protector, optional
- 10% deposit when she signs
Billing in stages
Bill the rough-in when it passes, the trim-out when it's done
Builders pay by stage, so bill them that way. When the rough-in inspection passes, send that stage's invoice from your phone, and send the trim-out as its own invoice after the final. Both sit on the builder's record with what's been invoiced, paid and still owed, so nobody does the math on the back of a permit. They pay from the link by card, ACH or PayPal, and a mailed check gets recorded by hand.
- Rough-in, 60% of the contract
- Trim-out and final, 40%
- Each stage its own invoice to the builder
- Invoiced, paid and owed on their record
- The builder's own price list on every invoice
Inspection days
The crew knows about the 8am disconnect before they pull up
Put the panel upgrade on the calendar and assign both electricians. Each gets an email, and the job on their phone has the address from the customer's record, your notes about the utility disconnect and the inspector's window, and the photos. The site visit and the city inspection go on the same calendar as appointments, so the week shows who is where and when the inspector is coming.
- Panel upgrade, two electricians on one job
- Utility disconnect at 8:00 in the job notes
- City inspection as an appointment
- Directions from the job in one tap
- Email to each person you assign
Crew hours
Your crew clocks in from the job, and Friday adds itself up
Each electrician and apprentice gets their own login, and you choose area by area what they can see, including only their own jobs. They tap Clock In when they get to the site and Clock Out when they leave, and a forgotten clock-out gets fixed on the web. The timesheet report totals the week for each person to 2 decimals, and the entries go to your bookkeeper as a CSV. No more hours texted to you on Friday night.
- Own login for every electrician and apprentice
- Only their own jobs, or everyone's
- Clock in and out in the mobile app
- Missed clock-outs fixed on the web
- Weekly hours per person, entries emailed as a CSV
